Producing a Global Virtual Summit for Facilitators to Connect and Collaborate

Every December, connection expert Chad Littlefield gathers facilitators, educators, and community builders from around the world for the Connectors Summit. For the past few years, we’ve been the team that helps produce the virtual engagement using a unique platform which allows participants to freely connect throughout the gathering. In doing so, we support Chad as a co-facilitator throughout.
The result: a fully virtual, multi-day summit that practices what it preaches — headlined by voices like Priya Parker and Peter Block, run end-to-end on a platform that supports real connection, and consistently held up by this hard-to-impress crowd as proof that virtual events can create real human connection.
Workforce 2030 Summit, Steinman Foundation
Designing Workforce Summits That Turned Talk Into $100,000 of Funded Projects

Most workforce summits end in a binder of good intentions. The Steinman Foundation and Lancaster STEM Alliance wanted its Workforce 2030 Summit to end in collaborative action. We designed the day around four connection-first facilitation methods, so 250 leaders across education, government, industry, and nonprofits built relationships and co-created solutions instead of just discussing them.
The result: 15 collaborative projects proposed, with a share of $100,000 awarded to the strongest to build over the following year.

A Decade Powering Social Innovation Programming Across 70+ Universities

The Sullivan Foundation funds social-impact learning for young changemakers at 70+ universities across the American Southeast. The challenge is that a network that large only creates impact if the programming behind it is meaningfully designed, coordinated, and constantly renewed. For 10+ years, we ran that engine: Ignite Retreats, fellowships, field trips, a virtual Masterclass series, faculty development, coaching cohorts, and a rebrand, all while advising the president and board on the foundation’s future.
The result: 5,000+ students trained, 250+ faculty developed, a $17M endowment re-aligned toward student success, and a program its president says “would not be at its current level” without us.
Age-Friendly Summit, VHA Diffusion of Excellence
Designed and Facilitated a Summit to Transform Care for Older Veterans

Healthcare practitioners across the VA were working to bring age-friendly practices into their clinics, but largely in isolation. We helped design and host a gathering that brought these practitioners together into a nationwide community of practice. In two days, we surfaced what was working, where the friction was, and what they needed from one another. This insight was used to directly inform the initiative’s strategic direction.
The result: a connected national community of age-friendly practitioners with a co-created five-year scale-up plan, including working groups, named leaders, and timelines to carry the movement forward.

A Live Print Mosaic is an interactive art piece co-created by your community. During the event, each participant gets their photo taken and printed onto a sticker they place on a large grid wall — and as the stickers fill in, the wall transforms into one dynamic image of your community. It becomes a gathering place during the event and a centerpiece people talk about long after.

What does a conference facilitator do?
A conference facilitator designs and leads the experience of a gathering — not just the agenda, but how participants move through the event, connect with each other, and contribute. Unlike a speaker or emcee who delivers content from the stage, a facilitator designs the architecture of participation: how people engage, how ideas get surfaced and synthesized, and how the gathering produces real alignment and momentum. My Creative Community has designed and facilitated conferences for as many as several thousand attendees.
